We started the 4th out early! Blake & Evan ran in the Freedom Fest 5K. The race started at 7:30. They were ready!
We were waiting on Main Street at the finish line!
Evan beat Blake by just a few seconds. They both finished at around 32 minutes.
I'm so very proud of both of them! Their competitive spirits between each other kept them going for sure!
We had a laid back rest of the day. We all went home and napped. Then we went over to Nonnie and Poppy's and grilled burgers. We made homemade ice cream, and sat out on the back porch and enjoyed the coolish weather!
When it started getting dark, we went to the square to watch fireworks! It was SO nice. The atmosphere was perfect. We could hear the patriotic music as the fireworks were going off. I LOVE my small town! Blake met up with Anna and watched fireworks with her family:)
After the fireworks, we listened to a local band, 10 Spur, for a little bit. Then we went back to Nonnie and Poppy's house to shoot our own fireworks. Beau had fun this year. He did some sparklers and loved watching the big boys set off the other stuff.
Anna's IG post. I think she might like Blake:)
It was a great, laid back, 4th of July. Great food, family, and memories!
