Kuk Sool Won Tourney

This past Saturday Blake had his first Kuk Sool Won tournament.  It was a new experience for all of us!  It was at a community center in Clarksville.  I was very impressed with how organized the event was!  Blake did a really great job!

Here he is with the other kids in his yellow belt age group waiting to compete in the "forms" part of the competition.  There were a lot of kids his age and skill level there.
Here he is in action.  He didn't even seem nervous!
There were 3 judges and 2 score people at each ring.
Here he is waiting for results.
The judges were talking to his group.  This picture shows how big this place was.  There were 12 rings with people competing in them the whole time!
Here is Blake being Gabriel's partner in the "techniques" part of the competition.
Beau didn't love it very much (imagine that).  So, he, Evan, and Travis stayed up on the upper level for most of the competition.  They were righ above Blake's ring so they could see him and people couldn't hear Beau yelling quite as loud:)
This was Blake getting his scores after his techniques.  He ended up in 5th place.  First-fourth got a medal, so...almost.
Next was the sparring competition.  Blake really likes sparring and he did great!!!
He ended up in 2nd place for sparring!!!  Here he is on the podium after he got his medal!!
I was SO proud of both of these boys!!  Mason and Blake both medaled in sparring!!!
Tanner, Mason, and Blake with their instructor, Mr. Nixon.
A bunch of kids from the Kuk Sool Won of Greenwood program.
It turned out to be a very fun and enjoyable day.  I was SO proud of how well Blake did, especially for his very first tournament.  He is very confident doing Kuk Sool Won and it is very obvious when he is competing.  So glad he has found his "thing"!!!
