World Series...Part 1

 Evan's baseball team made it to the World Series!!!  I had mixed feelings going into it, just because it would mean that we would spend close to a week in Tulsa.  Plus, the boys were leaving for their big trip with Nonnie & Poppy the day before the tournament ended.  But, Evan was super excited about it, so we jumped in!

I had to pack the boys for their 2 week trip before we left for Tulsa.  Then I had to pack all of us for 5 days in Tulsa, plus Travis and I had to pack for Kansas City.  Talk about stressful!!!  But, we got it done, loaded up, and headed out EARLY Saturday morning.

 Evan had to check in at 10:00 Saturday morning.  The whole team had to be together in uniform to be interviewed.  Ev was nervous but it went great!  We had the rest of the morning/afternoon to relax.

 The opening ceremonies were that evening. All the teams were together out on the field.  It was pretty cool!

 All the boys had towels and trading pins.  They all traded pins with other teams.  It was really cool!  Then we had a BBQ dinner there at the ball fields.  After that there were several skills competitions.  It was a fun, but long night!

 The next day we were ready to play!!  Even Beau was pumped!!

 Nana, Trisha, Malory, Alan, and Austin came too!!  Here were the boys trying to stay cool before a game.

 Beau's friends, Lilly and CJ were their all week too.  It was fun to have other kids to play with.

 I love this, Beau is carrying Harry Potter for Blake.  It's as big as he is! Ha!

 We did a little (LOT) of swimming at the hotel.  Evan wasn't allowed to swim, but his coach decided to let them have 30 minutes of swim time, so he was happy:)  Beau had on ALL the goggles!!

 This was fun to see after the pool play games were finished!  River Valley Bulldogs had best scoring and best differential!

 Nana, Trisha, and Malory stayed the whole week with us.  Beau and Malory love each other so much and Malory takes really good care of Beau!  One morning they were watching them clean the pool.  Fun stuff!

 Ev had a little homework to do while we were there.  Nonnie had made a Map Quest "quiz" for he and Blake to do before the trip.  It was just to get them familiar with the places that they would be going.  Blake had done his before we left.  Ev took it very seriously and took good notes before he submitted his answers:)

 The 2nd day of game play the boys only had to play 1 game since they had won their pool.  That was nice!!  Roger tagged along to most of the games.  He kind of became a "mascot" :)

 The first couple of days were nice.  The boys had won all of their games so far, and they were playing absolutely awesome!  Evan had had some trouble hitting the ball, but had worked REALLY hard going into the tournament.  Let me just say....he peaked at the perfect time!!  He was hitting the ball like never before!!!

Happy 4th of July!

 Blake & Evan had gone to spend some time at Nana and Papa's, so we started out the 4th with just this big guy!!

 He has started wanting to wear a belt....if anyone remembers Evan and his belt, you know this makes me a little crazy inside :)

 We met Nana & Papa at Cheddars in Ft. Smith to pick up the big boys.  Beau HAD to go poop.  Seriously, everything came off including his flip flops and underwear.  Yuck!!

 On the way home he kept singing...Chugga Chugga Chugga Chugga - Poo Poo!!!  HAHA!!

 We stopped at the square in Greenwood and joined in the festivities for a little bit.  Both boys were dying to do this.  Evan was talking really big, but Blake totally stomped him!!!  Blake swung the hammer and rang the bell on the first try!!!  Evan might have been a little embarrassed:)

 We went over to Nonnie and Poppy's house, grilled burgers, and made homemade ice cream!  Then we loaded up to go watch the fireworks.

 It was good, but the mosquitoes ate us alive!!

 Afterwards we went back to Nonnie and Poppy's to shoot fireworks and eat watermelon!!!

 It was SO good!!

 It's just not the 4th without a ripe, juicy watermelon!

 We had left Snowy in her kennel in the garage, because the 4th of July is the worst day of the year for her.  The fireworks send her into an anxiety frenzy.  Travis gave her Valium and Benadryl before we left.  Anyway, we came home and found this.  She literally busted out of her kennel.  It's a wonder she didn't strangle herself.  Our 60 pound lab squeezed through that hole!!!! Bless her....

Happy 4th of July to everyone.  So thankful to live in a free country where we have the opportunity to celebrate our freedom!!!

Randomness...

 Beau has discovered the joy of Hi Ho Cherry-O!!  It's been so fun to watch him discover how to play a "real" game.

 He was pretty excited to eat ice cream out of his Naturals "bowl" that Nana got him at the Naturals game.

 Our friend Roger keeps showing up every hwhere.  I looked back in my backseat the other day and there he was!

 Packing a kid for 3 weeks on the road is a little stressful.  There are piles like this ALL over my house!!

 Evan made pancakes one morning for breakfast and Beau loved them!

 This is our 3rd pair of gray baseball pants this season.  I refuse to buy another.  Nonnie is going to try to work her magic and patch them up:)

 I dropped the boys at Travis's office the other day and looked back and they were all huddled up over some drawings of some cool sports thing at the U of A:)  Love:)

And, that's the randomness of the last few weeks!

State Tournament ~ Conway

 The weekend of June 29-30 with went to Conway for the State Tournament.  Nana, Papa, Trisha, and Malory came too!!  We pulled into town and stopped at David's Burgers for lunch.  I had been saying every time we were in Conway that I just knew that place had to be good.  I was right!!  Best burger and fries ever!!!  And, they come by with fry refills:)

 The Conway ball field is SO nice.  It makes even the hottest games more comfortable.  The weather turned out to be pretty perfect, with overcast skies and a cool breeze.  Beau and Malory kept each other entertained!

 For dinner that night we went to a place called Mike's Place.  Another winner for sure!!

 I had crawfish etouffee.  Amazing!!

 There was a railroad park across the street and Travis took Beau over to check out the trains.  He even saw a real train go by!!

The next day we were back at it!  The boys played SO well!!  We played 3 or 4 games that day...I can't remember exactly.

 The boys had a very tough loss in the quarter final game.  It was a bummer, because they had played SO well.  I was SO proud of Evan, but you can tell he was disappointed:(

Naturals Game!

 On Tuesday June 25, Travis, Blake, and Evan headed up to NWA to watch the Naturals All-Star game with Nana.  They had great seats and had a great time!!  

Evan told me before they left, that he was going to catch at ball.  And, he surely did!!

Georgia Time!!

 We had so much fun with Kyle, Amy, & Georgia!  I loved getting to watch the boys play with her!  We loaded up one day and headed to Ft. Smith.  Two sweet kiddos in my car;)

 We met Nonnie for lunch at Marketplace.  Chocolate Mess...YUM!!

 One evening we went over to the Danie's house to swim.  It was SO fun!!  Georgia loved swimming!

 BTW, this is the child who REFUSED to even put a toe in the water at swimming lessons the day before.  UGH!!  SO Frustrating!!

One night we took Blake and Evan to a Kuk Sool swimming party, and Kyle and Amy went to a movie, so Nonnie and Poppy took care of Beau and Georgia.  They look SO big!!

 Nonnie has a water play tub she keeps on the back porch.  By the end of the night, they were both in it, in their clothes!

 Georgia got really obsessed with a pair of Beau's flip flops, so I HAD to get her her first pair.  LOVE those sweet pink flip flops!!!  She LOVED them and didn't want to take them off:)

 We had such a good visit.  It was VERY hard to see them leave:(

Thankful for the time we got to spend together!!
