No More Training Wheels & Quiz Bowl

 We have big news around here!  Beau has learned to ride his bike without training wheels!!  The bad news is, his legs now look like this:(

Evan had batting practice at the batting cages and instead of throwing rocks in the creek, Beau and his friends decided to take a swim;)  It was really warm, and they were having so much fun, so I just let him do it!!

 Evan was on the 5th grade Quiz Bowl team from East Pointe.  Nonnie, Poppy, Nana, and I all went to watch him compete!

 We all rode the bus to lunch!

 Evan and his buds...Jonathan and Tatum.  Unfortunately, they got beat by Westwood in the quarter final round, but they played well and it was super fun to watch!

Now we've gotta get ready for a CRAZY busy weekend!!

Happy Easter ~ Part 2

Travis, Blake, and Poppy all sang in the choir on Easter morning, so we didn't get any pics of us all together before church.  

These 2 looked so handsome!

 The guys had to sing during both services, so we all went to the first service, then took some pics, and the rest of us went home to get lunch ready.

 Our lunch was delicous!  Ham, hashbrown casserole, asparagus, fruit salad, deviled eggs, homemade rolls, strawberry pie, and lemon ice box pie!!

 After lunch we did lots of egg hiding and finding!  Beau loved it!!

 Then we all took turns napping on the couch.  It was a perfect Easter afternoon!

Happy Easter ~ Part 1

It's Easter time!  We decided to have a fairly casual Easter lunch at mom and dad's house.  It's kinda nice to not stress about a huge fancy meal and fancy dishes sometimes.  I made deviled eggs the night before. This is my Mamaw's deviled egg platter.  It makes me so happy every time I get to use it!

 Beau and Evan dyed Easter eggs.  Of course, Nonnie came over to help:)  Blake was at a retreat, and missed the fun. 

 They had so much fun together, and the eggs turned out beautifully!

 It doesn't take much to get Beau ALL excited.  It's fun to see his surprise!

We found all the hidden eggs and got ready for Easter morning service at the PAC!

This week...

 Well, it was hair day around here!  What made it even greater, was that it was hair day for Amy, too!!  Fun times rocking the foils with Rachel!

 The boys in our neighborhood have become obsessed with ramping lately.  And notice, the kid coming down the driveway full blast toward the ramp is Beau...on his bicycle with training wheels.  Oh my!!  But, I do love having all these boys hanging out here!!

 It's standardized testing week at school, so I did the unbelievable....I got up and cooked my boys a real hot breakfast!  I actually fixed breakfast all week.  I'm sure they wish they tested every week;)

 Nonnie has gotten super crafty with her embroidery machine.  She made Beau this "bunny truck" shirt and he wore it to his Easter party at MDO!

 Beau and I stopped at Goody's one afternoon for a little treat.  I LOVE this boy!

 Nonnie is getting Beau ready for Disney World this summer! 

 I'm sure he will have a shirt for every day before the time comes!

Out with the Old, In with the NEW!

 So, we have been talking about getting a new car for a while.  We have been driving mine for about 4 1/2 years and several bigger repair problems have popped up recently.  I had really thought I would drive my Suburban until it died, but we just couldn't justify the repair costs and the fact that it would probably only continue to get worse.  So. we started looking.  

We knew we would buy another Suburban.  It's just too perfect for our family right now.  I couldn't really imagine trying to downsize.  We fill that sucker up when we travel!  We found what seemed to be the perfect fit at a lot in Bentonville so I headed up the next day to check it out.  After I looked at it and drove it, I was in love.  It was exactly like my old one, except that it was 5 years newer, has dual DVD screens, an updated navigation system, and was white.  Travis was actually in NWA that day at a seminar, so I texted him and told him he had to come see it.  So, he had a friend drive his car back to Ft. Smith and I picked him up.  He drove it and agreed that is was exactly what we were looking for.  So, just that easily, we did the paperwork and drove home in our new car!

 I'll miss this one.  I truly LOVED this car!!  Sad to see it go....

Bye bye old, hello NEW!!

I was so thankful to find exactly what we wanted so easily.  I'm blessed to get to drive my dream car.  And I know, I would never have guessed 20 years ago that a Suburban would be my dream car, but it really is.  I love that my whole family, plus some friends and all of our stuff can travel easily and comfortably.  Hello NEW!!

Choir & Baseball

Blake had a make-up choir concert on Thursday night.  As usual, it was wonderful.  I'm just SO glad that Blake has gotten involved in the choir program, and that he is enjoying it so much.  It's making him a much more well-rounded young man:)

 We played ball in Farmington over the weekend.  It's been great playing in NWA.  Staying with Nana & Papa makes it SO much easier and cheaper!!

 Beau Beau and Malory LOVED the sno-cones.  They were pretty awesome!

 Evan did some more pitching this weekend and totally rocked it!

 The four of us getting ready to go watch Ev & the RV Bulldogs win some games!!

 And....THEY WON!!  SO much fun to win!!  Bringing home the hardware!!

 Great job Bulldogs!!

And even better, Deacon's team was playing at the same fields and they won their age bracket also!!

Baseball & Spring Break Wrap-Up!

 The last weekend of Spring Break Evan played baseball in Rogers.  It was a great weekend for baseball!

 Beau thinks he is SO big.  He plays with several of the other boy's little sisters.  This day they were playing Barbies.  Most of the time they are just running around, or playing with sidewalk chalk or a ball.  He has been having a blast!  It's so nice for him to be big enough to play and have fun.  Makes it easier on everyone!

 Evan got to pitch some during the first game.  He did GREAT!

 After Evan's last game, we sat down to watch Travis's cousin Eric's little boy Aiden play for a little bit.  As we were sitting there Evan starting pulling bottles out of his baseball bag.  Apparently it's been a while since he cleaned it out!!  It weighed about 5 pounds less when the clean out was done!

 In other news, Nonnie and Poppy bought a new camper!  It's super nice and they are all excited about traveling around.

 They had it sitting out in their street while they got it all stocked up, so we went over to visit:)  The boys can't wait to take a camping trip with them.

 Beau and Poppy went to the bait store and bought "real minnows" to fish with.  Beau has learned to cast as is becoming quite the fisherman!

 We had a busy, but fun Spring Break!
