Veteran's Day Assembly

 I just have to say, that Greenwood has the most amazing Veteran's Day Assembly, ever.  I bawled through the whole thing!! 

 

 

 

Blake's male chorus sang at the assembly.  It was SO good.  I was very impressed!!  And again, cried and cried.

He looks so handsome.  I just love him!!

So thankful for all of the veterans and the sacrifices they and their  families have made for my freedom!!

Jesus, Indians, and Operation Christmas Child...

 In the mornings, when I am working on my Bible Study, a lot of the time Beau will want to help.  This day he wanted to "write".  So, I got him a notebook and he started drawing.  He drew Jesus on the cross and then he wanted to write Jesus.  I think he did great!

 

 

 One afternoon, I had stopped at the donut shop, and a couple of people that live at the retirement home across the street asked me for a ride.  They needed to go to the gas station across town to cash their checks.  I really wanted to help them and I truly felt that they weren't dangerous, so I told them to hop in.  We had a good chat as we drove across town.  Beau might have been a little scared.  Unfortunately, being sheltered in a little town, he hasn't had a lot of up close and personal meetings with "brown" people.  But, he managed to smile and keep his mouth closed!! Thank you Jesus.  I was glad to meet my new friends and glad to help them out!!

 Loving my new and updated fall wreath.  Unfortunately, it will only get to stay for a couple of weeks, because Christmas is coming out soon!!

 Evan had to design an Indian from a clothespin and make a "home" for it that was correct for the Indian "group" he chose.  I can't even remember what group he chose, but it turned out great!!

 We decided to go all out with Operation Christmas Child this year.  We picked up 3 boxes and talked about what an impact those 3 little boxes could make in the lives of 3 children.  My big boys took their own money and we shopped for our boxes.  I was very proud of their choices.  They both wrote a letter to put in their boxes and we paid for our shipping online so we can track them.  I loved Blake's letter:)

 

Our church has a 5K in honor of Donna Ellenwood in November and the entry fee is an Operation Christmas Child box.  We all went and walked/ran.  They collected A LOT of boxes that day!!

Sherry and I walked and I pushed Beau in the stroller. It was a beautiful day!!

 Evan did awesome and won a medal for 2nd place in his age group and 13th overall.  Good job!!  Blake ran also, and did very well too!!

 My family!  I loved this whole experience.  We are looking forward to finding out where our boxes end up!  Praying that the lives of the children who received them are changed forever!!

 

 

Evan's 11th B-Day Party!

 

Evan decided to have his birthday party a week early, so he and his friends could go to a Greenwood home football game.  We picked everyone up and headed to Genos first for dinner.  They were Cra-zay!!

 

Then we headed to the football game.  Talk about thinking they are big.  They were too cool!! 

Blake was singing the National Anthem with the choir at the game. They did SO good!!

 

We had fun!!  Beau loved it as long as Bogey was in sight, but not too close:)

 We got home and they were all starving!!

 They FINALLY fell asleep around 2:00.  They were up early the next morning and out in the backyard on the trampoline!!

 They put away a TON of cinnamon rolls in a very short amount of time!

 Fun party with some good boys!  Thankful for good friends!!

 

Fall Fest, Owl Pellets, & All Region...

The BIG fundraiser of the year for East Pointe, is Fall Festival.  It was November 1, and I am glad it's over!!  It is lots of fun, but LOTS of hard work also.

Travis and Blake were on cotton candy duty for a while, and they did great!!

 

Evan's science class dissected owl pellets recently. Gross!  Mrs. Coonce sent me these pics of him and Jonathan hard at work!!

 

Blake's All-Region choir performance was recently.  He spent all day in a workshop, preparing for the concert.  We went to Russelleville to hear him perform.  It was SO good and I was very proud.  I'm so happy he got the opportunity to do this.  I'm hoping that this will be the first of many more All-Region performances we get to attend!

Sunday afternoon.  Beau loved checking out the children's area.  I was very proud of Travis!  The library is beautiful!!

Sharon and Whitney came down one day to celebrate Beau's birthday.  No matter how long they are apart, they just start playing like they were together yesterday.  Love it!!

 We went to LaFiesta for lunch and Whit had to borrow Beau's shoes.  Camo Crocs.  Nice!

 After lunch, they played some more.  A little binoculars and Smokey Bear action.

Good times for us!!

Halloween Fun!

 Halloween fell on a Thursday this year, so Beau got to wear his costume to school.  Cutest little Woody ever!!

 Beau thinks he is a big kid.  He goes out and talks to the boys every morning before they walk to school:)

 His class walked over to the library for story time.  One of the things I love best about small town living. 

 Blake went as a "casual" Abe Lincoln.  Mason was "Si".  They went and did their big boy thing together.

 Travis, Beau, Evan, and I went with the Drennans to the walking to trail to trick or treat.  The best part for Beau was riding the school bus to the start of the trail.

 

 Blurry, but another great benefit of small town living.  Totally safe to walk the trail and trick or treat from all the Beta Club booths set up along the way.

 We ended the night at Nonnie and Poppy's house as always.  They always have the best candy anyway!

 Blake finished the night hanging out and watching movies at the Baldwins. 

A very fun, very exhausting night for all!!
