World Series

Evan's World Series was the last week of June in Branson.  We were thrilled because we love Branson!  We set out early Wednesday morning to be there for the team check-in at 1:00.
Nana rented a condo right across the street from the ball field at the Payne Stewart Golf Club.  It was amazing!!!  Nana, Papa, the 5 of us, Trisha, Alan, Malory, & Austin all stayed together.  Nonnie & Poppy came to Branson with the camper and camped at Table Rock.
After team check in and pin trading, we headed out to Silver Dollar City.  The Opening Ceremonies were there later in the evening, so we thought we would take advantage and spend the afternoon there before hand.  Nonnie and Poppy met us there!

We got there and it was pouring rain.  Didn't stop us!  We just got our umbrellas out and kept going!  The Flooded Mine in the rain:)
Beau's biggest dream came true!  He was finally tall enough to ride Thunderation!!!  He was one happy boy!!!!  He ended up riding it 2 or 3 times!
 All the happy Thunderation riders!!
Later that evening all the teams met outside Silver Dollar City.  Evan's team looking good!
They had a "parade" of teams down to the Red Gold Heritage Hall.  Since we were already in the park we got to watch them all file in.
Evan kept saying "mom-enough with the pictures".  Whatever!!

They had some amazing singing and a cool magician perform, then all the teams got called up to the front and introduced.  It was a really cool ceremony.

Afterwards, Beau got to go "camping" in the camper.  He was SO happy!!

His first "hike" with Nonnie & Poppy:)
The next 2 days Evan's team played 4 pool play games.  Both days they played at 1:00 & 4:00.  Both fields were really nice and the weather was good too!

Evan chilling out between games!
Beau was in fine form.  He spent a lot of time like this, and also under the blanket.  It was hot, and he was crazy!
The professional photographer got some really good shots of Evan!!

Every night when we got back to the condo, Trisha and I took the kids down to the pool.  There was never anyone else there swimming.  It was like a private pool!!  We cooked at the condo every night.  We had steaks, hamburgers, and roast.  YUM!
Evan's coach told him to pick out what uniform they would wear one day and send him a pic.  Really, Ev??  Ha!
We made a couple of trips to Andy's.  Just can't resist Andy's in Branson!
Pics of some of the fan club!  We set up the canopy so that we would have some shade.  It also ended up being our rain shield the last day!

 These 2 were comfy!
Evan had an amazing 4 days of baseball!!  He made some absolutely amazing plays in the outfield.  He made some crazy running and diving catches and that boy can flat throw the ball from the outfield!  He also had some GREAT hits!! He was ON during this tournament!  His coach was very proud of his performance!!
The Bulldogs won 3 out of 4 came in 4th seed in the top bracket after pool play.  They were in a bracket with 5 major teams.  We knew the competition would be fierce, but it felt SO good to rank so high among major teams.  They won their first game against a major team!!  Ended up losing on Sunday morning, but placed 6th overall out of 32 teams.  It was impressive!!

Carly came to every single game with Nonnie & Poppy.  She was super good!
Almost all of Evan's fan club!  Alan and Papa had already headed for the truck.  We had a super fun week in Branson and enjoyed watching Evan play some GREAT baseball!!
After the game, Beau really wanted to go to the "broken house" aka Ripley's Believe it Or Not.  So, Travis took Beau & Blake and Evan and I went to the mall to find new shoes for Evan.
We headed home later that afternoon.  Great time with family and already looking forward to baseball next year!
