Christmas Randoms...

I am SO behind on blogging, so I just decided to jump in and catch up!  So, I'll be posting several times in the next day or two.  These are just some random pics of our Christmas time activities.  We had such a fun month.  I LOVED getting to experience Christmas with a newborn again.  But, it did slow us down a little, and obviously, I'm a little behind.  So, here goes...

I love this picture of all the boys the night we decorated the Chirstmas tree.  Evan LOVES his Santa hat and worn it every opportunity he had during December!

At one point, Evan decided to build a fort in his room.  He moved in with his lamp, radio, alarm clock, Christmas decorations, pillows, and blankets. He actually slept here for about  week.  This is a picture of Beau "visiting" Evan's fort!

Blake loves to hold Beau.  He can't stand to hear him cry, so he comes running every time Beau makes a peep.  Beau looks like a wild man!!!

This is a picture I took at Travis's office Christmas party.  This is Galen, Travis, and Michael~the 3 architects at MAHG.  I think it is HILARIOUS that they all dressed the same!!

So, there is our December in a nutshell.  I really enjoyed our slower pace.  Makes me realize just how fast we are usually running, and how nice it is to slow down for a change!!  Lots more pictures of Christmas to come!!

Amenhotep III

Recently, Blake had a big project to do in his GT class at school.  They have been studying Egyptian Pharohs and gods all semester.  The final project was to pick a pharoh then make a presentation board and write a report.  Then they dressed up like their Pharoh and had a "Share Fair" for the whole 4th grade.  It was a pretty big deal and it took a lot of work!  Here is Blake working on his board.

A little help from Snowy!

Here he is at the Share Fair dressed as Amenhotep III.  He had to say a 30 second "speech" about Amenhotep III every time a group of kids came by.   I think he ended up saying it about 50 times that day!

Here are some pictures of all the kids in the 4th grade GT classes that participated.  There picture was in the paper.  I was very proud of Blake for doing such a good job.  He absolutely loves his GT class and I'm so thankful that he has an outlet for his creativity!!

Colic

Every evening from about 5:30 until around 11:00 sweet precious little Beau screams his head off!  It starts something like this...

I am SO thankful for Travis.  Sometimes the constant screaming really starts to take a toll on my nerves, and Travis steps in and works his magic!!  He doesn't get a whole lot of that sweet cuddle time that I get during the day, but he is a heck of a baby walker!!  I am so grateful for a husband who does WAY more than his fair share!  I love this sweet precious baby, and I love his daddy just as much!!

Beau and Whitney :)

Sunday evening we had company!!  Whitney came over to hang out while the rest of the Scogins went to Lindsey's children's choir program at church.  We had so much fun!  But, I have a new understanding for those of you with twins:)  Of course, they both wanted to eat at the same time, so Travis and I were sitting on the couch next to each other both feeding a little baby.  It felt so weird!!  After that, Beau and Whitney wanted to look at the Christmas tree, so I made them a pallet on the floor...

They were both really enthralled with the lights!

The differences in a 3 week old and a 2 month old are so obvious when they are together.  Whitney would actually look at me and smile, and Beau just kinda looks "past" me :)

I love this picture!!  Of course Beau is screaming, and Whitney is just chilled out.  I'm sure she was thinking ~ could you please just shut him up!!

We had so much fun.  Whitney, I promise Beau will eventually learn some manners and quit screaming in your ear!!  Come back to play anytime!!!

THE fort!!

 2 boxes + 2 boys = 7 hours of fun!!!

This post makes me so happy!! I just love it!!  The boys spent the day after Thanksgiving over at Nonnie and Poppy's house.  My dad got up early that morning and went and bought a new Black Friday super special front-loader washer and dryer.  He brought it home with him, so by the time the boys got up there were 2 huge empty boxes just waiting to be loved! 

 They went outside and started working and they worked, and worked, and worked :)  My mom said they wouldn't even come in to eat lunch.  If you know my children, then you know that is saying something!!  She ended up taking them lunch out on the driveway.  But, boy did they have fun!!  These boxes turned into a whole day of sheer joy for them.

They both had their own box, and then they hooked them together to make a bigger fort.  Blake did a lot of decorating in his side.  See the "hook" and a flower on the wall...

Here is a view from the outside...I think they used several rolls of Duct tape.  Nonnie and Poppy were such good sports.  If this had been at our house, Travis and I wouldn't have been able to stand the mess:)

Thanks Nonnie and Poppy for letting Blake and Evan spend the day "creating" in your driveway.  They had SO much fun.  It just goes to show you, all boys really need are a couple of boxes and their imagination to have an awesome day!!

Most Embarressing Moment!

Well, today think I had one of my most embarressing moments EVER.  I decided to run into the mall with Evan and Beau to run a quick errand.  I managed to get Beau loaded into his stroller and we made it through the mall fairly smoothly.  We make it back out to the parking garage and I stroll up to the car.  I start unloading my purse, diaper bag, shopping bags, and Beau and by this point there is a stream of cars watching me because someone has decided to WAIT on my park.  That totally gets on my nerves to start with...

 But, anyway, now I open the back of my car to put the stroller in.  I start trying to get the stroller to fold up, and I CAN'T DO IT!!  I try again and again.  By this time, half of Ft. Smith is lined up in the parking garage watching me.  I start sweating and getting really nervous.  The silly stroller just will not fold up.  So finally, I just give up, fold both backs seats down, and load the stroller, STILL UP, into the back of my Trailblazer.  Seriously, can you believe that!!  Talk about the most embarressing moment!!  I just kept thinking - surely out of all these people staring at me, one of them has got a stroller like this and will come help me.  But, nope, I just suffered alone :) 

So, the moral  to this story...always learn to use your stroller before you decide to take it out in public.  Especially during Christmas shopping season at the mall!!
