We got to Gulf Shores late on Friday evening, checked into the hotel, and went straight to the Oyster House for dinner. In case you don't already know, most of our beach vacations revolve around our favorite places to eat. We decided to spend a day in Gulf Shores to #1-extend our vacation and hopefully take a dolphin cruise, and #2 -eat at a couple of great places that we love! Unfortunately, our favorite dolphin cruise wasn't running (they are making more $$ helping with oil clean up). But, we did thoroughly enjoy Gulf Shores anyway!
Saturday morning we decided to check out the outlet mall in Foley. It was tax-free weekend in Alabama and coupled with "Friends and Family" discount week at the Gap I had a BLAST!! We shopped until about noon then headed to lunch at the Gulf Shores Steamer. Blake was so looking forward to eating crab legs on this trip so he and I shared a huge plate of crab legs for lunch. I wish I had taken a picture. He was in crab leg heaven :)
After lunch we headed down the beach to Navarre. We are staying at a condo called the Carribean. We checked in around 3:00. The place is just perfect for us.
Here is a picture of the living room. Notice that Poppy is already getting some technology hooked up. We came prepared with Netflix in tow. Somehow we can use Netflix here?? Poppy did forget the remote, but guess what? - There is an iPhone app that turns your iPhone into the Netflix remote!! Seriously!!!
The side view out the dining room window.
Travis and I got the master this year since we are sharing the room with Beau. Beau has a nice cozy room set up in the master bedroom closet :) His pack and play, noise machine, and monitor make a super comfy spot for him! Here is Nonnie braking the bed in with a diaper change.
The view from our bedroom is amazing!!!
The kitchen. We do VERY little real cooking. We eat breakfast and lunch in the condo, but nothing that has to be "cooked". A can of Pillsbury cinnamon rolls one morning was the extent of our "cooking" :)
This is the boy's room. Pefect...the each have their own bed, so no fighting at bedtime. They also have their own bathroom, so no one has to deal with their pile of wet bathing suits and towels except them. They also have a room in NaNa and PaPa's condo, so they can stay with them some too.
This is Nonnie and Poppy's room. It is actually a "lock-out" apartment, so it has a little kitchenette also.
We are having a blast. I can't wait to post some actual beach pictures. The boys and Malory and playing so well together. It's crazy how adding a cousin to the mix totally changes the dynamic for the better. I LOVE the beach!!!
