The French Quarter

I was just amazed with all the beautiful buildings, with all the wrought iron and amazing plants right in the midlde of the French Quarter.  Then, just next door would be a run-down building covered in graffiti.  There was definitely a lot of "atmosphere".  Mom and I and Beau in the stroller walked up and down most of the streets in the French Quarter.  It was a weird feeling, because we felt very safe, but knew that if it were after dark in the same places our lives would have probably been in danger!

Bourbon street was interesting.  Not really a whole lot to see during the day.  Just a whole bunch of night clubs closed up during the day :)  But, it was very obvious it would be a hopping place after dark!

This was an amazing street band set up right in the middle of the street.  They had talent!!

After the aquarium, we met up with everyone to cool off.  Don't you love how we are all posed in front of a bar :)  Really, there isn't anyplace in the area that isn't a bar:)

Malory loves Beau SO much.  She is a great babysitter/entertainer.  She loves to push the stroller and try to keep Beau happy!!

We spotted a WALGREENS in the French Quarter and I HAD to take a picture.  No neon, just a little sign advertising the location.

We had an AWESOME day in New Orleans.  It was SO hot, but it really didn't bother us that much.  Beau was the best baby!  Can't believe my 9 month old has already been on Bourbon Street:)  We are so lucky to have families that like to hang out together.  It makes the trip so much more enjoyable for Travis and I when we have so many grandparents willing to help with the kiddos!

We left New Orleans about 2:30 and headed to Gulf Shores for one night.  More to come!!!
