Galveston!!!

We took a trip to Galveston over Memorial Day weekend with NaNa, PaPa, Trisha, Jody, and Malory.  We had such a fun time!  We left at 6:00 on Friday morning and drove ALL day!  We got to the house on Galveston Island about 6:00 that evening.  The trip was good for the most part, just hard for Beau.  He got bored and fussed a lot during the afternoon. Travis's uncle James and his girlfriend Victoria live near Galveston, so they met us and spent the weekend with us:)

We stayed in an AWESOME house!  It was in an neighborhood that had beach access.  There is just nothing like a "beach breeze" and the smell of the beach!

I didn't even get my camera out of the bag the whole time, so I just have a few pictures that Travis took as we were loading up to leave, and some I took on my phone.  The ground level of the house was open with a beautiful view.  We spent a lot of time just sitting out there!

 There was a beach club right down the street that we could use.  It had an amazing infinity pool and a GREAT baby pool.  It was so nice, because the big boys and Malory could swim in the big pool, and we could still see them from the baby pool.  Beau loved the pool and I loved that he could walk around and climb in and out by himself!

 When Malory is around, she is Beau's "2nd momma".  She is very helpful and takes good care of him!

 Beau was pretty fascinated with the "waterfall" off of the big pool.  He had tons of fun!

 This sign just totally cracked me up!!  It was posted on the walkway over to the beach and it says "Caution-DO Not Enter, Rattlesnake Habitat".  Seriously???  On the last day Travis and Evan were walking home from the pool and saw a dead rattlesnake in the middle of the sidewalk.  It hadn't been dead long either!!

 Sunday was my birthday, so we got up and Travis,me, Blake, Evan, Trisha, Jody, and Malory headed to Schlitterbahn.  We had SO much fun!  It was really nice to get to play with the big boys and not have to worry about Beau.  A big THANKS to NaNa, PaPa, James, and Victoria for keeping Beau at the house with them that day!

We got home and got ready to go out for my birthday dinner.  We went to Landry's and it was SO good!!  Here is the whole group of us!!

 Monday we did a little site-seeing in Galveston.  We went to a really cool shop that was built out into the ocean.  The boys bought some souvenirs and we enjoyed the porch and the view!

 And this little stinker finally gave it up.  This is a VERY RARE sight to see from Beau Bartlett!!!

 We went to a historic area called "The Strand" and had a lot of fun walking around, checking out some cool shops and cool artwork.  We found the coolest ice cream parlour/soda fountain and we had ice cream there....twice!  Here are the kiddos in front of LaKings!

We had such a good time spending time with family!  We did have one little accident though:)  The night before we left Malory fell off the hammock and busted her forehead open.  After a LONG trip to the ER and 3 stitches she was good as new!

We always enjoy our Memorial Day weekend trips and this one was NO exception!  Thanks NaNa and PaPa for a great time!!!
