Summer Random-ness!

Okay, this just absolutely amazes me. This is a BUFFALO. In Greenwood. Seriously. We take one of the girls in my Life Group home after church most Sundays and when we pulled up in her driveway the other day, this is what was looking at me. Need I say more...
This is what I woke up to the other morning. I really thought that the boys were both still asleep because it was so quiet in the house. So, I crept over to Blake's room and the door was closed. I opened it and found them deep into Lego building. It's moments like that we I see them playing together so well that make me SO happy! Brotherly love, at least for a brief moment :). We added several "creations" to the shelves that day!

Another random picture that just cracks me up. We had borrowed this white folding table from my parents to set the computer on while Travis painted the computer desk. When we were finished with it, I had it sitting by the door to take back. The boys set it up and started using it as their very own TV tray. We never eat in front of the TV, but for about 3 days, they did every chance they got!! Needless to say, the table disappeared soon afterward.

Fun summer days!! I have SO enjoyed this summer and will be very sad to see it go!!!

Branson Family Fun!!

This post is WAY overdue!!! We actually took this trip to Branson back over Memorial Day weekend, but I just found the pictures and decided I had to share some. Blake and Evan have decided that they are saving their money for their "own" 4-wheeler. Luckily, they love to spend money too much to be getting very close to that goal!!

Later that day we went to the zoo in Springfield. If you've never been, this is an awesome zoo. Just the right size to walk through in a few hours. Really clean with awesome exhibits!! Here Blake and Malory posing in front of some pink flamingos.

Apparently I didn't take any more pictures. We spent a VERY RAINY day at Silver Dollar City. It was actually kinda fun. Didn't have to worry about being too hot. But by the time we left the kids were SOAKING wet from riding rides in the rain. We also went to the the "Shanghai Circus" show. It is a bunch of Chinese acrobats doing amazing things. We really liked it. We had an awesome weekend and always look forward to the next one! Thanks Nana and Papa for an awesome trip!!

Fruit Basket Turn Over

We have been busy lately around the house. It all started when we decided we had to turn the guest room/office into the baby's room. As we started talking about it, Evan decided he wanted to change rooms. So, Evan moved to the guest room, and Evan's old room is becoming the baby's room. While we were in "bedroom" mode, we decided that Blake's room needed a face lift also. Blake isn't big on change, but we were able to talk him into re-arranging his room and getting some new bedding and accessories. He absolutely refused to let us paint his room. We also revamped our bedroom. I haven't taken any pictures yet, but we painted, re-arranged the furniture, got new bedding, and moved our dresser out and put the computer desk in it's place. I wasn't sure how I would feel about having the computer in our bedroom, but so far it has been great. Travis and I actually have spent more time together in the evenings, because one of us is usually always on the computer. The computer desk is a dinosaur. It is a left over from Travis's apartment in college. He remembers buying it at Service Merchandise and taking it back to Fayetteville!! It also got a makeover, and it actually looks pretty decent. Pictures of that project to come...

Perfect Baby Boy!!

The ultrasound finally happened today, and he is absolutely perfect. I didn't know just how nervous I was until it was over. I have just worried WAY too much this go round. But now, I'm ready to just sit back and enjoy getting ready for him to come! Here is a precious picture of his face...

According to the ultrasound, I measured exactly what we thought (22 1/2 weeks). But, when I saw Dr. Bell my tummy is measuring almost 3 weeks ahead. No wonder I feel so miserable. His estimated weight is 1 pound 3 ounces. We also got an awesome DVD. It's amazing how much technology has changed in 7 years!! Thank you Jesus for a healthy baby!!! Now he just needs a name...

Busy Weekend!!

This weekend has been BUSY! We started out Friday night at the ball field. Evan's t-ball team played in the championship game in the post-season tournament. They played so hard, but lost to another really good team. But they did finish the season with a first place trophy for the season and a second place trophy for the tournament!! You can tell by Evan's face, that after we waited for 2 1/2 hours for the award ceremony to start he was worn out.

On Saturday I had to work, but Travis and the boys went to the lake with Poppy. Poppy bought a new tube at the end of the summer last year, so this was the first real run for the new tube. They had a blast. At one point, Travis and Evan were on the tube and it flipped. Evan, who is usually super tough, apparently got really scared and cried! It must have been some kind of flip! I'm so glad they got to go and have so much fun, but I think I'm kinda glad I had a good excuse not to go. It's just too hot outside for anything right now if you ask me!!

The Trickle Down Effect...

For all of you who don't know, I have to explain this really awesome phenomenon in my family. It's called the "Trickle Down Effect". You see, my dad LOVES everything technology. I mean, he REALLY loves anything with bells, buttons, whistles, megabytes...really anything with lots of technology sounding initials in the name:) And, he loves to have it FIRST. When something new comes out, you better believe that my dad will be first in line at Best Buy to get one.

That being said, I also have to say that we also love the "Trickle Down Effect" because my dad is super generous. Once he gets the new "toy" he is more than willing to pass down the older model (which is probably only a few months old) to either my family or Kyle and Amy. We have acquired many a computer monitor, mouse, printer, phone, remote control, camera, label maker, video game (you get the idea)...through this awesome process.

Lucky for me, a couple of weeks ago they released the "new" iphone. Well, my dad was DYING for the lastest model. So, he ran right down to the AT&T store and ordered one for him and my mom. So, Tuesday the new phones came in, and my dad had 2 "old" iphones just waiting for someone "down the line". Since Kyle and Amy already have iphones, I became the new owner of a "new to me" iphone!!

Let me just say that I AM IN LOVE!! Seriously, who knew a phone could be SO much fun. It's just SO easy and it does EVERYTHING!! I ordered myself a cute little pink and silver case off of ebay so she won't be so naked, but other than that, she is perfect.

Now I'm just waiting on Travis to cave. He's fought the iphone bug for SO long. But, I think he's about to make the move. Dad also let Travis have the other extra iphone to play around with. Travis HAS to have the new model also, if he makes the move, so he's just taking the old one for a test drive.

I got another surprise yesterday, when I noticed on our AT&T account that the data package for my "new" phone is only $20 compared to the package for my "old" phone that was $35. So, my sweet new phone is actually SAVING me money. You know that makes ME HAPPY!!!

Thanks Dad for being such a lover of technology!!! I LOVE my "new" phone!!!

More 4th!!

On the afternoon of the 4th we went over to Nonnie and Poppy's for a cookout. Dad smoked ribs and cooked a brisket and Kyle brought over a turkey to smoke. This is the MASTERPIECE!!

It took most of the day for the turkey to cook, so we had turkey for a late night snack :)

This is how I spent most of the afternoon. I don't know what the deal was, but I felt like I was going to pop all afternoon. Obviously I ate too much, but I was short of breath and just miserable most of the afternoon. I can't imagine how I'm gonna feel in 2 or 3 months!!

We all loaded up and headed out to see the fireworks at dusk. It didn't seem so much like it at the time, but we look like some kind of redneck crew!!!

Seriously, I think we could send this to Jeff Foxworthy. Evan and the umbrella really tops it off.

We really did have a great day. Lots of good food and time with family. Thanks Nonnie and Poppy for inviting us!!
